Black Ink - Nepalese Crinkled Lokta Paper - Rustic - Curry - 18x30in. - This crinkled sheet is a spectacular semi-glossy two-layered lokta, with a unique rustic, crackled texture drenched in warm, curry-colored browns. Great for book covers, lampshades and decorative boxes. Deep, rich earthtones in solid and pinto patterns are the allure of these vegetable-dyed papers from Nepal. These lokta papers are handmade from fiber of the Nepal paper plant, called the Daphne shrub or Lokta bush. Growing around 6-9,000 feet up in the Himalayan region of Nepal, this bush completely regenerates in about 4 years after being cut to about 6" from the ground. Therefore, the cultivation of this tree-free paper is an eco friendly resource and a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepal's rural and urban areas.
